Housing Group sponsors local football team’s official kit

Phoenix United, an FA Charter Standard Community Football Club in Birmingham, are looking smarter this season thanks to a donation of over £700 from Trident Group.

This sponsorship has paid for new tracksuits and winter jackets for the team, with the players proudly carrying the Group’s logo on the back of their tops for the season.

The local club, whose graduates include professional footballers Saido Berahino (Stoke City F.C.) and Rushian Hepburn-Murphy (Aston Villa F.C.), aims to provide good quality football coaching to a range of children, ensuring that a range of transferable life skills are developed and understood, all in a fun family oriented atmosphere.

The kit was showcased for the first time in April as three teams from the football club took part in the Holland Easter Open Tournament.

David Jones, Director of Housing and Social Care at Trident Group, said: “Phoenix United has an excellent track record working with young people in need and from disadvantaged communities across Birmingham. Trident Group is extremely happy to be able to support them to develop and grow.”

Wayne Henry, Chairman of Phoenix United, said: “The support from Trident Group will help the children in feeling part of our footballing community and increase their self-esteem by ensuring they look the part. We work with all elements of the community and aim to use football as a tool to reduce barriers and have children playing the beautiful game together, regardless of their postcode.”
